Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is a renowned wildlife sanctuary located on naturally undulating terrain. As part of their commitment to preserving the pristine landscape, certain hills and slopes within the sanctuary may not be accessible for unassisted wheelchairs. However, worry not! They have carefully designed alternate routes for guests with limited mobility to ensure everyone can fully enjoy the sanctuary.

Please note that while they strive to provide access to as many areas as possible, some parts of Lone Pine, such as their kangaroo reserves and sheepdog/barn area, may have unpaved paths. These areas may not be suitable for all types of wheelchairs or mobility assistive devices. However, the team is always ready to assist and accommodate your needs to ensure you have a memorable experience at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary strives to make your visit as comfortable and accessible as possible. If you require a manual wheelchair during your visit, they have a limited number of wheelchairs available for hire at our convenient Ticket Entrance. To ensure a seamless experience, they kindly ask guests who wish to hire a wheelchair to sign a liability waiver and pay a nominal maintenance fee of $6.

For your convenience, you can also book a wheelchair ahead of time by calling (07) 3378 1366 or emailing service@koala.net. Their team will be happy to assist you in securing a wheelchair for your visit to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. They are committed to providing exceptional service and making your experience with us as enjoyable as possible. Plan ahead and reserve your wheelchair now to ensure a smooth and hassle-free visit!

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary welcomes the use of personal mobility devices such as prams, strollers, wheelchairs, and electric mobility scooters to ensure all guests can comfortably explore their grounds. However, they kindly request that guests using approved personal mobility devices exercise extreme caution at all times while navigating the sanctuary to maintain a safe environment for everyone, including our guests, staff, and wildlife.

We understand the importance of accessibility at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and they strive to accommodate guests with certified guide, hearing, or assistance animals. With that in mind, they have specific guidelines in place for accessing public areas and the sanctuary grounds with these animals.

Public Areas Access:

Certified guide, hearing, or assistance animals are welcome in the public access grounds of Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, including the Riverside Café and outdoor cinema areas, without the need for prior arrangements. They want to ensure that you and your animal companion can enjoy these areas comfortably.

Sanctuary Access:

For access into the paid sanctuary grounds with a certified guide, hearing, or assistance animal, bookings are essential. As a wildlife sanctuary, they prioritize the safety of both our animals and your certified guide, hearing, or assistance animal during your visit.

Approved handlers with certified guide, hearing, or assistance animals are requested to make pre-arrangements by calling (+61) 7 3378 1366 or emailing service@koala.net before visiting the sanctuary grounds. Please note that visits will be guided by a knowledgeable Lone Pine team member for a maximum duration of 2 hours.
